Can I authorise my suppliers to place bookings on my behalf?
If you would like your supplier to make bookings as soon as the cargo is ready to be shipped, you can easily authorise your supplier to place bookings on your behalf. Once you’ve done that, they will automatically be notified that you have given them this authorisation and they will be asked to sign up on Maersk, where they can start placing your bookings.
When your supplier is placing a booking on your behalf, the price of the shipment is based on our instant rates (just like when you make a booking yourself). However, your supplier will not be able to see the price of the booking they make for you.
Once the booking is placed, you will automatically receive an email containing all the booking details and the total cost of transportation. You will also be able to give final approval or decline the booking before we release a booking confirmation.
