Can I add Intermodal – Carrier Haulage to an existing ocean booking?
Yes, you can add Intermodal – Carrier Haulage to an existing Maersk Ocean booking. If you initially booked an Ocean (CY) shipment, you have the option to convert it to include inland delivery, which includes delivery to any customer facility (stoor door) or inland rail or barge terminal. This can be done even after the cargo has already been placed on water, right up until the container gates out at the port (for imports) or before the container gates in (for exports).
This flexibility is particularly useful if you're unsure about the exact location of the inland destination (e.g., warehouse) when placing the ocean booking.
