What are the minimum emissions savings you can achieve using ECO Delivery Air by replacing 100% fossil fuel?
- We guarantee CO2e savings of at least 65% well-to-whell (WTW), compared to regular fossil fuel in line with Article 25 of the EU Renewable Energy Directive (2018/2001). WTW is a metric encompassing entire lifecycle emissions of a fuel, including upstream emissions from fuel production and transportation.
Why do we account CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) and not CO2 (carbon dioxide)?
- Maersk has committed to Science Based Targets (SBTi) and is reporting in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, we work with CO2e and not CO2. During the combustion of fossil fuel not only CO2 is emitted but also additional greenhouse gases e.g. nitrous oxide, methane etc. which are not reduced by combustion of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
