What fuels do Maersk ECO Delivery use today?
Today we use biofuel from waste streams that are unfit to use for human or animal consumption. These are referred to as second-generation biofuels. All biofuel we purchase is certified by International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC). Additionally, Maersk has 24 methanol vessels on order for delivery between 2024 and 2027 and as a policy will only order new, owned vessels that come with a reduced GHG emissions fuel option. Together with the world's first methanol-powered vessel - Laura Maersk, the new fleet will be adding green methanol fuel to the network for Maersk ECO Delivery customers to access.
