Heavy Load Surcharge (HWS)

In order to continue providing you with our global services, Maersk will be introducing a Heavy weight surcharges (HWS) from India to USA.

Origin	Destination	Effective Date	Amount	Equipment Type	Gross Weight
Origin Amingaon, Chennai, Cochin, Haldia Port, Kolkata, Mangalore, Marmagao, Tuticorin, Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam, Durgapur, Raipur, Coimbatore, Kattupalli, Kakinada, Ennore Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata Alipore, Siliguri, Danagadi, Duburi, Hoskote-Bangalore	Destination USA	Effective Date 11-May-25	Amount USD 200	Equipment Type 20 Dry	Gross Weight >22 Tons

When Verified Gross Mass (VGM) exceeds the weight threshold, Heavy Load Surcharge (HWS) will be triggered.

The above rates are also subject to other applicable surcharges, including local charges and contingency charges.
These rates are unaffected by, and do not affect, any tariff notified, published, or filed in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
For trades subject to the US Shipping Act or the China Maritime Regulations, quotations or surcharges that vary from the Maersk tariff shall not be binding on Maersk unless included in a service contract or service contract amendment that has been filed with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) or the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, as applicable.
