- Above price table is applicable only to exceptional cases like vessel change after laden containers' gate-in due to shippers' reasons. We do not basically accept early CY in before yard open date even with the charge payment.
- Rules and tariffs for 40'high cube and 45' dry container are same as 40' dry.
- No free time shall be applied in case shipments or specific containers are cancelled by customers after containers are moved.
- Please note below mentioned basic and exceptional rules.
Day Counting
Basic rule: Free time counting starts from the date of laden container gate-in, and ends with the proforma departure date vessel (including domestic barge).
Exception 1: Receipt at Yokohama CY/Load at Tokyo, Receipt at Kobe/Load at Osaka (or vice versa)
Free time counting is based on proforma departure at port of loading
Example: In case of dry container
In case of receipt at Kobe/load at Osaka, free time will be 7 days before the proforma departure date vessel at Osaka (including the proforma departure).
In case of receipt at Osaka/load at Kobe, free time will be 8 days before the proforma departure date vessel at Kobe (including the proforma departure).
Exception 2: CY open at Nagoya
Please note that public CY open date at Nagoya and free time set by Maersk can be different.
Free time set by Maersk is 8 calendar days (incl.Sat/Sun but excl. national holidays), but the open date set by Nagoya public
CY always has a priority to be applied.
Open date set by Nagoya public CY is 10 days before the date of vessel arrival (incl. Sat/Sun/national holidays and also
counting arrival date). In case Nagoya public CY open date is set after Maersk free time, please wait for public CY open date.
Exception 3: Vessels operated by other carriers
We basically follow the CY open dates set by vessel operator companies. Regardless of our demurrage and
detention rules, there may be restrictions with CY opening periods.
Exception 4: Dangerous Cargo
No free time is set for dangerous cargoes. Please carry them in the terminal only on CY cut dates.
At Nagoya port, export cargoes within the scope of local fire defence laws can be accepted only on 1 day before vessel arrival.
Note: UN No 3166 / UN No 3171 - Class 9 cargoes can be accepted from regular CY open date.
Counting Free Time and Demurrage
Basic rule:
Counting free time = All days incl. Sat/Sun, but excl. national holidays.
Counting demurrage = All days incl. Sat/Sun/national holidays after expiration of free time.
Exception1:
In case Monday is a substitute holiday, the Monday is exempted from free time counting, but Sunday is not
