Maersk excelled at the Oceania Daily Cargo News Awards and the Middle East Women Leaders’ Summit, earning top honours in trade, diversity, and sustainability across Australia and the UAE.
In November 2024, Maersk celebrated major achievements at the DCN (Daily Cargo News) Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards, held in Melbourne. This event honours outstanding contributions to Australia's shipping and maritime logistics sector, reinforcing its critical role in the nation’s economy. At this celebration, Maersk received a Highly Commended mention in the Diversity & Inclusion award, highlighting its commitment to inclusivity and regional collaboration across Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.
Beyond Australia, Maersk’s dedication to diversity and inclusion was celebrated in the Middle East. Lisa Park, Area Managing Director for the UAE, Oman, and Qatar, received the Breaking the Bias award at the 4th Annual Middle East Women Leaders’ Summit held in the United Arab Emirates last December 2024. Her efforts in advancing gender equity and breaking industry barriers exemplify inclusive leadership in logistics. At the same event, Maersk further earned the Most Gender Inclusive Company award which recognises organisations with a profound commitment to making a significant positive impact in diversity, women in leadership, inclusion, and economic, social, and environmental change.
I was truly honoured to receive the Breaking the Bias award. We were also thrilled that Maersk was recognised as the Best Gender Inclusive Company. This reflects the dedication of our teams, our Leadership, and our Employee Resource Networks around the world towards advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In Australia, Maersk also secured two Liner Trade awards: Australia-South East Asia and Australia-North America, recognising our commitment to service excellence and connectivity. The company received a Highly Commended mention in the Liner Trade Award for Australia-New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands. Additionally, Maersk was a finalist in the Environmental award and the Supply Chain Innovation & Technology award. And lastly, My Therese Blank was awarded the Women in Shipping award.
These recognitions reinforce Maersk’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. Maersk believes integrating the world is about more than connecting supply chains—it’s about creating fair environments where diverse talents thrive. By championing diversity and innovation, Maersk continues to set new industry standards.
