Employee Resource Networks (ERNs) are one of the ways we put this principle into practice. By bringing staff members together who share similar interests, these voluntary, employee-led groups enhance and elevate the culture and environment for our colleagues.

Our aim

Through our ERNs, we aim to create an inclusive culture, in which colleagues feel comfortable to be themselves. At the same time, we want to make sure we’re addressing all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion. ERNs act as a voice for our workforce, providing input to ensure that company policies truly align with our commitment to inclusivity.

Our journey is only just beginning, but we’ve already made great strides in empowering our colleagues. Our ERNs help raise awareness of the value of creating an inclusive environment where everyone can grow and develop, and feel welcome.

Our ERNs in collaboration with Human Resources, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) teams, help ensure that everyone feels welcome to be themselves. Diverse abilities

Our newest ERN is our Diverse Abilities Network, launched in September 2023. At Maersk we consciously avoid the term ‘disabilities’ – we’d rather talk about diverse abilities. Instead of highlighting limitations, we want to celebrate the skills and achievements of all our employees, while reflecting the inclusive culture we are proud of and continue to cultivate.

Our MIX (Maersk Inclusion for Excellence) networks are local and employee-driven, aiming to raise awareness of diversity, equity and inclusion. This helps to build an inclusive culture in which colleagues’ opinions count, they are able to contribute, and they feel valued.

Global pride at Maersk

The mission of our Pride@Maersk ERN is to help make Maersk a safe space for all our employees globally, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. Launched at the end of January 2022, the ERN has teams across our regions that organise local events and activities to raise awareness.

RISE

RISE is our ERN that works to help women advance in their career in technology. The network aims to boost gender diversity across our technology teams, which in turn drives improved levels of performance. Our mission is to recruit and retain, inspire and be inspired, empower and be empowered, and create strategies for success.

Power Women Network (PWN)

The Power Women Network (PWN) is a network for people who want to make a change in inclusive leadership and equitable career progression. Our aim is to drive the conversation on the problem of career inequity for women, and provide the opportunity to create a safe space for women to meet, share and help each other overcome the barriers to career progression.
