As part of the review process outlined in our previous advisory published on April 1st, North America Inland FuelAdd-on Update | Maersk, we have completed the latest assessment of inland fuel costs. Due to continued increases in fuel expenses, an adjustment to the temporary intermodal fuel surcharge is now required.
Beginning June 1, 2026, the surcharge for import shipments moving through inland rail ramps or container yards in the U.S. or Canada will increase to $200 USD per dry container. The fee for reefer containers will increase to $250 USD per unit, which includes the previously announced genset-related adjustment referenced in the Canada ReeferGenset Charge Update 2026 from Maersk advisory.
This amount will continue to appear either as part of the combined Emergency Bunker Fuel fee or as an additional Ocean Freight Rate on your invoice.
We will continue to monitor fuel price developments and provide updates as needed. Thank you for your understanding.
