Following a review of our genset‑related cost structure, driven largely by rising fuel expenses, we will introduce the following rate adjustments for reefer shipments utilizing a Maersk genset under Merchant Haulage. These changes will apply to cargo with a Price Calculation Date (PCD) on or after June 1, 2026.

Introduction of an Origin and Destination Genset Usage Charge: USD $50 per Canada Import and Export Ocean CY reefer

For shipments where Maersk manages transport to, from, or via an inland rail ramp or container yard including cross‑border moves between the U.S. and Canada, as well as movements within Canada an additional USD 50 per reefer will be incorporated into the Ocean Emergency Bunker Fuel (EBF) fee.
This amount will appear as a single, consolidated Emergency Bunker Fuel line item on the invoice.

If you have any questions or need guidance, please reach out to your local Sales or Customer Experience Representative. Contact details for all local offices are available on Maersk.com.
