Freetime: “Free Time” is the period agreed between the Carrier and the Merchant for which Demurrage & Detention and Terminal Storage shall not be paid by the Merchant.
Combined D&D: Compensation payable when the Merchant holds Carrier’s Container beyond the agreed amount of Free Time for the combined period of inside and outside the terminal, port, or depot. (invoiced as DETENTION)
Terminal storage: Compensation for utilizing the port, terminal, or depot facilities beyond the agreed amount of Free Time. (Invoiced as Demurrage)

- Reefer Storage includes plug-in/electricity charges.
- IMO containers follow the tariff for DRY Equipment Type & Size unless otherwise specified.
- Shipper's own containers (SOC) are subject to Storage and not subject to Combined D&D.
- Non-operating reefer (NOR) is considered as DRY container.
- 40´ High and 45´ High containers are considered equal to 40´.
- Cancelled/frustrated exports will incur demurrage & detention charges with no free time.

Free-time and charges per container per calendar day (i.e. including week-ends and holidays) after free-time expires. Start date and end date are included in the calculation.
The Free time and charges applied for Demurrage and Detention will be those in place at the origin Price Calculation Date (PCD).

Notes:
- Shipper’s Own Container is considered as equivalent to corresponding container type.
- 40´ High containers are considered equal to 40´.
- Shipper’s owned tank with DRY cargo follows free-time & rate of Dry equipment.
- Shipper’s owned tank with IMO cargo follows free-time & rate of IMO.
- For special deals: Please bear in mind that the calculation method of charges for special deals (free-time granted > tariff free-time) is ‘progressive’ and the lead off rate slap(s) will be reduced by the number of days in excess of tariff free-time.
- NOR (non-operating reefer) is considered as Dry Container.
- Pricing structure in Romania consists of two elements; 1. Combined Demurrage & Detention 2. Demurrage.
- Combined Demurrage & Detention: Free time period and charges for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots. (invoiced under DET)
- Demurrage: Free time period for use of terminal or depot space (invoiced under DMR)
- Combined Demurrage & Detention starts with empty pick-up date (included) and ends with load on board date(included).
- Demurrage starts with gate-in full date (included) and ends with load on board date (included).
- Export D&D is applied according to official tariff on our web site: maersk.com and based on ETD available 2 days prior empty pick up.
- For cancelled bookings and cancelled containers (by customer) Maersk applies origin country’s Export Detention or Combined DnD tariff rates directly as of gate-out empty to gate-in empty move , no freetime is applicable and it is valid for all bookings including SPOT and non-SPOT.

Inland haulage for reefer containers
Carrier Haulage for reefer containers is acceptable subject to GENSET equipment availability and always Genset Surcharge (GEN) for minimum 2 calendar days must apply in line with the local charges valid at the date of shipment.

Hazardous cargoes
Erates do not cover trucking and rail tariffs for Dangerous cargo (IMO). Please contact Sales Department at (sever.nicoara@maersk.com, pooja.vishwakarma@maersk.com) which will quote accordingly.
Special cargoes
Out of guage cargoes (OOG), Break-bulk cargoes and Dangerous cargoes (IMO) are subject to standard Maersk approval procedures.
Invoicing Details
Please make sure the payer details are correctly submitted at the Shipping instructions stage. The amendment will generate a charge of 30usd/ cancelled invoice.
Equipment and weight / measurements
No Out of guage (OOG) or reefer cargo is accepted by rail.
IMDG class 1/2/5/6/7 is not accepted on the vessels having more than 250m long because of the Bosphorus Strait restrictions.
Maersk prefers not to put vessel schedules to risk, consequently this restriction has been effective from week 14, 2007.
On truck, maximum cargo gross weight is 22mt. On rail, maximum cargo gross weight is up to payload.
