Terminal des Flandres in Dunkerque is currently experiencing a temporary congestion, due
to an exceptional volume peak over a short period of time.
This situation is resulting in longer truck waiting times.
In this context, several inland transport providers have implemented a congestion
surcharge, which is billed to Maersk.
In order to continue ensuring the continuity and reliability of our services, Maersk is
therefore required to temporarily pass on this surcharge for Carrier Haulage moves to/from
Terminal des Flandres – Dunkerque.
- Amount: 120€ per container
- Effective date: 19 February 2026
- Validity: Until further notice
Measures implemented
The terminal and Maersk are actively working to mitigate the situation. Several measures have already been implemented, including:
- Reinforced deployment of personnel and equipment on site
- Extended gate opening on Saturdays (05:00 – 13:00)
- Assessment of additional measures to further improve operational fluidity
Maersk is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the terminal and transport partners, with the objective of minimising the impact on our customers and returning to normal operations as soon as possible.
We thank you for your understanding and remain at your disposal should you have any questions.
