A. P. Moller – Maersk would like to inform you that on the afternoon of 4 March, an inland barge coming out of the Fruit Terminal in Antwerp collided with the Noordkasteel bridge, causing the bridge to remain in a closed position. While there are no reported injuries, the bridge cannot be opened, and as a result, all marine traffic sailing via the bridge has been stopped. The port authorities are currently conducting an inspection of the bridge and its possible damage.
It is currently unclear how long the situation will last, and what the impact will be on the cargo going to and from the Terminal. Our teams are in close communication with the Terminal and will keep you informed as soon as there is an update to the situation. Our teams are reviewing the affected shipments and looking into alternative cargo options, should the Terminal remain inaccessible for the upcoming days. To receive updates on any changes to your cargo, please sign up for ETA notifications.
We will keep you informed of any updates on this advisory page as soon as more information becomes available. Our teams remain at your disposal, and should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Maersk representative.
